PRIMERO DE FEBRERO DEL 2013

 Redacción - VESPor qué escoger ésta vida, porqué no simplemente, quedarse en casa, en la ciudad, esperando el fin de semana y salir a la discoteca, libar licor, y destruir el páncreas, para no tener que vivir el día siguiente, por qué, manejar cientos de kilómetros, lejos de toda la realidad humana, para reconectarse con la pura tierra y el transparente líquido vital agua, para qué despertarse temprano, no a las 7 , si no a las 2: 30 a.m., qué sentido tiene?, por qué no quedarse en casa, en la seguridad del hogar, viendo t.v. o chequiando el facebook, de qué sirve esto ? a quién le interesa ?, no es peligroso acaso?, ver accidentes en la carretera ?, incluso ver a alguien que pierde vida ?, pienso, entonces, en eso, en que la cuenta regresiva se activó hace años atrás, desde el momento que un hombre y una mujer decidieron tener sexo sin protección, para darme vida, ahora me toca comprender, darle sentido, pero es más sencillo, cuando hago el viaje, es , la razón, comienza a tener lógica, me río, hasta me salen lágrimas, otra ves, agua, hasta de mis ojos sale, no puedo sacarla de mi ser, entonces busco más, y la encuentro, ésa se mueve, y el viento le da forma, si le pega de frente, es tan perfecta, que ni el sol , ni las altas temperaturas me perturban, soy fotosíntetico, las luz solar me alimenta, no necesito otra cosa, el sonido, ese mismo sonido que te hipnotiza, es el mar, y se mueve, por qué se mueve, de donde viene eso, no lo pienso, solo siento, y eso es básico, es importante, sentir, se borran datos de mi cerebro, tonterías inventadas para encadenarme y ser parte de esa otra vida, son tonterías, al carajo todo, pero eso es muy extremo, mejor, mitad y mitad, un poco de ciudad no hace daño, pero en exceso intoxica, y lastíma, es caos, acá nó, es bonito, es agradable, es necesario, me pongo triste si no veo el océano, si de ahí vinimos, por qué no nos permiten verlo, y estar cerca de él? , lo han ensuciado, dañado, vendido, acabado, cercado y tapado, lo han insultado y hasta le han inventado historias de terror, para controlarme, pero yo pasé esa página, ahora recuerdo, me da pereza, por eso hago lo que hago, ese ha sido el motivo, todos se equivocaban, y el tiempo no se detuvo, cada 24 horas gira el planeta, no te pregunta ni te espera, ni siquiera le da importancia si lo comprendes, sigue su curso, es mi casa, es muy grande, y viven muchos seres en este hogar, tengo hambre, que traje de comer?, unas galletas y chocolates, agua , del grifo, hasta la venden ahora, prefiero ahorrar, la gasolina es cara, cómo ahorro?, manejo a una sola velocidad, pero si no llego antes de que salga el sol, qué hago ?, quiero ver cuando sale, realmente , no sale, siempre ésta ahí, somos nosotros los que giramos, otra vuelta más será de noche, y las olas alucinantes, voy a correr, viene una buena, la haré, no , me caí, ahora espero otra serie, se marca, voy, aire, agarro aire, pies , voy, la hice, es rápida, ajusto aquí, tubo, bien , salí , normal, comienza la sesión , una VES más...

RESOLUCIÓN SOBRE LA INGERENCIA DE LA ASOCIACIÓN PANAMEÑA DE SURF ( RECIENTEMENTE RE ORGANIZADA Y SUS COMENTARIOS SOBRE EL BODYBOARDING PANAMEÑO ) . 29 -12 -12.

1. Ante los comentarios del dirigente AMILCAR SÓLIS sobre sus reuniones con organizadores del BODYBOARD PANAMEÑO, ACLARAMOS : Ningún organizador / bodyboarder se ha reunido con ningún integrante de la APS, en ningún momento se ha PEDIDO AYUDA de dichas personas y desconocemos, la razón por la cual, desean reunirse con BODYBOARDERS PANAMEÑOS.

2. SOLICTAMOS A LA APS : Abstenerse de afirmar que son ELLOS, los JEFES/DUEÑOS DEL SURF/BODYBOARD EN PANAMÁ, y QUE SON ELLOS quienes manejan los EVENTOS DEPORTIVOS EN LOS OCÉANOS.

3. RECLAMAMOS, que tal COMO FUERON LOS COMENTARIOS EN LA EMISORA A NIVEL NACIONAL, sobre su supuesta "AYUDA" , nos FACILITEN los números de teléfonos/nombres de contacto, de las ENTIDADES GUBERNAMENTALES DE LAS QUE RECIBEN " APOYO " a fin de que tal como ellos han afirmado, APOYARAN A LOS GREMIOS, tanto a NIVEL NACIONAL como para VIAJES INTERNACIONALES.

4. EXIGIMOS : RENDICIÓN DE CUENTAS : SOBRE : Los MUNDIALES DE SURF realizados en PANAMÁ, CUÁLES FUERON SUS BENEFICIOS AL PAÍS ? Y UN DESGLOSE DE LOS GASTOS, QUIENES RECIBIERON DINEROS DEL ESTADO Y CUÁLES FUERON SUS CUANTÍAS ?

5. AFIRMAMOS : QUE EL BODYBOARDING PANAMEÑO, SE ENCUENTRA INDEPENDIENTE , TIENE SU PROPIA ESTRUCTURA Y SUS PROPIOS RECURSOS, Y EN TODO CASO, NO QUEREMOS MEZCLEN DEPORTES QUE SE PRACTICAN EN DIFERENTES TIPOS DE CONDICIONES Y CON DISTINTOS PUNTOS DE VISTA.

6. REPETIMOS : SI ES CIERTO QUE LA APS TIENE TANTA AYUDA DE EL GOBIERNO ACTUAL : ACLARE : LA SITUACIÓN LEGAL DEL HURTO DEL INVENTARIO DE BODYBOARDS QUE HA SIDO VISTO EN "RECONOCIDAS " TIENDAS DE SURF EN EL PAÍS, Y QUE ACTUALMENTE MANTIENE 4 PROCESOS JUDICIALES SIN DEFINIR EN : JUZGADO PENAL, JUZGADO MUNICIPAL, JUZGADO CIVIL Y CORREGIDURÍA DE SAN FRANCISCO desde el año 2011.

7. EN SÍNTESIS : LE PEDIMOS A LA RECIÉN CREADA NUEVA JUNTA DIRECTIVA DEL SURF : QUE SE DEDIQUE A LEVANTAR SU ASOCIACIÓN, Y QUE CAMBIEN LA ACTITUD QUE HAN LLEVADO DURANTE LOS ÚLTIMOS 15 AÑOS LOS MISMOS DIRIGENTES, FRACCIONANDO A LOS ATLETAS SURFISTAS, QUIENES VIERON PASAR SUS VIDAS, MIENTRAS EL MISMO PEQUEÑO GRUPO, NEGOCIABA EN LO PRIVADO / ESTATAL EN SU PROPIO BENEFICIO, QUE LA NUEVA GENERACIÓN SE DÉ A RESPETAR , Y QUE NO PERMITA, QUE LA PIRÁMIDE SIGA LAVÁNDOLES SUS MENTES, QUE SEAN DUEÑOS DE SU PROPIO DESTINO.

ÚLTIMA HORA : TERRY McKenna RENUNCIA DEL IBA - justo antes de finalizar el tour 2012 + DIJO : Terry McKenna resigns from IBA

After 7 years behind the wheel, firstly as General Manager, then more recently as the IBA World Tour manager, Ter

ry McKenna is resigning from IBA Pty Ltd.

Terry insists that it’s only a move from his current employer Gregg Taylor (IBA Pty Ltd) and not an exit from the sport.

“I wont be going far."

"I love what I do and I am proud of what I achieved during my time with IBA, said Teza.

It’s been an amazing ride and I met some incredible people along the way. It’s these passionate people, the fans, the promoters and of course the riders that kept me going for so long.

But I think that its time for a change as I believe that the World Tour in its current form has possibly reached its natural pinnacle.

It’s just not sustainable with so many events and so little prize-money. Just ask the riders themselves.

I think the concept of 8-hour webcasts with 120 people battling over 10 days in mediocre surf just isn’t cutting it in the action sports market and I will now use my contacts and experience to create something more exciting.

I think that my rein at the top of the sport lasted as long as it did because I didn’t have any ulterior motives. I don’t own a label or I am not a major stakeholder in the industry and it’s been purely a desire to create something special that drove me this far.”

In September of 2010 Terry pitched the concept of an equity partnership with Gregg Taylor (owner of Turbo Bodyboards) to the Top 16 in a meeting at the Sintra Portugal Pro.

It was at this meeting that Terry hatched his new concept of the leaderboard format, and sold the model of leasing the tour to a corporate entity in the form of IBA Pty Ltd.

“It took a bit of salesmanship but in the end the decision was made to sign a contract that would lease the tour rights to a company formed by Gregg Taylor”

Gregg represented a group of investors and a finely worded contract was drawn up and signed by both parties, effectively handing the reins to IBA Pty Ltd.

During the next two years Terry worked meticulously with the promoters that he had developed close relationships with to deliver a legitimate world tour.

“Craig Hadden is also an inspiration for me,” said Mckenna.

“His hard work and professionalism is amazing and he is the best head judge in the world, hands down”

With the investors dropping over 1 million dollars into the tour the increased profile of bodyboarding came at a cost.

“Put the cheese out and the rats will come,” he laughed.

“I think that one of the downfalls of getting money into the sport is that it brings out the worst in people. Money can drive people to do things that they normally wouldn’t do.”

“I saw some great people get burned and it hurt, a lot.”

"It’s a shame that none of this money, not 1 cent, went to raising prize money for the guys that put on the show, the riders themselves”
