Pye Production’s Charging the Barrel serves as a glimpse into the relationship between the unpredictable Cornish surf and the “neoprene clad warriors” that strive to tame it.

Finian Pye, director, found his inspiration in the surf films that he was brought up with. The power of the sea, the clean cut waves and the steady sets inspired him to create several surf films of his own. His projects present a scene that contrasts starkly with those of traditional surf films. Charging the Barrel consists of jagged cliff faces rather than clear waters, cloudy skies rather than unspoilt sun, men in head to toe wetsuits rather than beautiful young women in stringy bikinis. But this is where the joy of the film is.

Rather than celebrating perfection this film celebrates raw enthusiasm.

Es la nueva producción de #VES y #viviendoelsurf - en asociación con www.bodyboardingpanama.tv

Se trata de una ola, que adquirió nueva forma y proporciones tras la construcción de un rompeolas paralelo a Pelicano, el spot que ya existía al final de la Playa de San Carlos, después del turicentro.

Desde que se comenzó el avistamiento de maquinaria en la playa , pudimos prever que para el 2014 , por primera vez , rompería una ola tipo wedge , y por ello desde el mes de abril, iniciamos las visitas para confirmar, que en efecto esta ola sería lo que soñábamos. Descubrimos que la mejor marea es la superior a los 15 pies, la cual tapa la peña de Pelícano, adicional, que con oleaje S , superior a los 16 segundos la ola tomaba proporciones mutantes.  Hay escenas increíbles de tubos perfectos, y el día más grande, durante el oleaje #elunico , capturamos drops de hasta 7 pies o más.
