Oli, Cholito y Deivis son tres humildes surfistas de Santa Catalina, una pequeña colonia de pescadores del pacífico panameño. A pesar de sus limitaciones económicas, enfrentan una lucha desigual para estar en la cima del surf mundial." Santa Catalina, unos años atrás era apenas un pueblo aislado hasta que un grupo de surfistas americanos encontró en sus playas la “ola perfecta”. A partir de ese momento todo cambió en aquel lugar; el pueblo del interior se convirtió en una playa turística donde sus habitantes rara vez aprovechan los beneficios del desarrollo. Solo sus playas y su Ola generosa no distingue nivel económico, ni clasificación social. Hoy en día, para los 350 moradores de Santa Catalina el surf significa la esperanza de una vida mejor y para los más jóvenes su razón de vivir. In the struggle to be at the top of the surfing world they face economic limitations and a stigma that is prevalent in the world of high performance athletics." Not too long ago Santa Catalina was just an isolated fishing village until a group of American surfers discovered the “perfect wave”. From that moment, everything changed in the remote village. It turned into a surfers meca that has a lot of expansion. The local people hardly get any benefit from its development. Only its beaches and generous waves can’t distinguish economic levels or social classification. Nowadays, for the 350 dwellers of Santa Catalina, surfing means hope for a better life and, for the local youth, the very reason to live.
